Founders

Weaam Williams is an award winning screen-writer, director, actor and poet.She has found her voice as a woman and activist using cinema, and launched her “Two Hues” feature film as Africa’s first Web3 film project. She is passionate about transformation in the film and arts sector, and is hence embracing Web3 technology and advocating for its growth on the continent. She has won numerous international awards for her works and expertise in the industry, such as "Two Hues",
“District Six Rising from the Dust” and “Hip hop Revolution”.

NAFIA KOCKS - CTO

Nafia is certified in blockchain, cryptography, Rust and Solidity.
He is an avid developer and creative in the Web3 space. He has worked as a cinematographer and
editor in the film industry for the past 16 years. He is the cinematographer and finishing editor for the award winning films, “Hip hop Revolution”, “District Six Rising from the Dust” and “Two Hues”. He works as a finishing
editor on feature films and TV magazine shows.

AFRICAN FILM DAO

AFRICAN FILM DAO (Decentralised Autonomous Organisation) is a new approach to financing African film with blockchain technologies. It's main goal is to help African filmmakers access finance in a transparent manner, and to build a sustainable film community with a global footprint.
African filmmakers have been marginalised. The only way to create change is to unite artists with tech visionaries for impact on a world wide scale. The DAO is the mechanism through which this will be implemented.
African Film DAO is a decentralised platform for the discovery, creation and distribution of African films. It connects African filmmakers with audiences, investors and buyers.

TWO HUES

Two Hues is a short film, released on the film festival circuit in 2021, where it picked up five awards.
The short film is about Natasa, a bipolar photographer whose polar opposite moods are conveyed using colour. The feature film is currently in development and was selected to pitch at Cannes NEXT in 2022. The lead's name has been changed to Lameez for the feature film. Two Hues is Africa's first film3 project.
